Broken People Unite Diorama - repurposed mini characters - Joker and Harley Quinn - together by fate - upcycled jewelry, nuts and bolts shadowbox. It has a bit of weight to it. 
 
The dimensions of this box are 5 x 5 x 1". The box was painted in swirling shades of yellow-green and dark green. It's trimmed with pieces of mosaic glass tiles and random glass pieces, jewelry, screws, and bolts, some of which are painted. 
 
Inside the box is more upcycled jewelry, one being an old earring representing the half moon with a red heart underneath. Of course. these two prefer a full moon to bring out their strongest characters, intensified. A half moon helps them glide in peace, because they are what they are. Some people are more inclined to be led by their minds, rather than their hearts. 
 
Joker sits on a heavy rusted tool surrounded by dice (equalling their lucky number 13), while Harley is beside him thinking about their next mischievous adventure. The sign in the middle states it all: "SOMETIMES THE HEART SEES WHAT IS INVISIBLE TO THE EYE". In their case, it's a combo of brain/heart association, more so equalling reluctant particularity and a sense of belonging. 
 
A fun, nerdy gift for those who just understand eccentricity and unusual bonding. 
 
My shadowbox pieces are eclectic and made from combinations of used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them with modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. This piece can be hung with the sawtooth hanger on back, but can stand upright all on its own. I've tried to capture the details in photos so please, look very carefully before purchasing.

The items inside are not removable. They are glued in with very strong-bonding glue.
