Christmas In Florida Diorama-tropical holiday shadow box-pastel nutcrackers-pastel art assemblage.
 
This box has dimensions of 15 x 9 1/4 x 2". It's painted a pale shade of minty green and lined in sugary gumdrops. Inside are two large Christmas cookies, a little wooden holiday train, and pastel floral cabochons. I made several little resin pieces with various inclusions inside them. A little doll sits in a flamingo innertube on top of a drum. Several pastel nutcrackers and flamingos adorn the painted pastel colored homes. Little flip flops sit in front of each house and a small pink and white camper sits off to the side decked out in holiday decor. 
 
This was inspired by visits to the small town of Seaside, Florida. Throughout the years, I like to stop off in this town just to walk and look around and see all the pastel colored beach houses. 
 
This would make a nice gift for those celebrating the holidays in a tropical climate, or those who would like to, but can't. 
 
This piece is handmade and one of a kind. There may be small imperfections, which is consistent with vintage and handmade items. Each box is made carefully with love and hopefully, will make you smile. Sometimes, I don't see strands of glue left behind right away but, if it's there, it's no big deal to tweeze it off. This box sits freestanding.
 
My shadowbox pieces are eclectic and made from combinations of used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them with modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. I've tried to capture the details in photos so please, look very carefully before purchasing.

The items inside are not removable. They are glued in with very strong-bonding glue.
