Mary and Baby Jesus Decorated Cutting Board - spiritual and religious - nativity - Bible - Christianity.
The dimensions of this cutting board are 9 1/4 x 5 x .5". I gave the front and sides of this mini cutting board a distressed finished and painted it a light ochre beige. The back side was left unfinished.
A little blond angel is at the top playing her violin. The word "Believe" is within the board underneath her. Two tiny embellished wooden crosses surround the Holy Bible and another lightly painted turquoise cross is on the other side. A small upcycled angel brooch is in the bottom corner. The centerpiece is a repurposed and upcycled ornament of the mother Mary holding Baby Jesus with the three wisemen and animals at the bottom.
The board can be hung from the hole at top or, it can sit propped against something. It's a simple little item but, there's nothing simplistic behind the meaning of it. I suppose the "piece" represents "peace" itself. If only peace could be captured by mankind..it would be a miracle in itself. All the possibilities lie within our own hearts.
My art pieces are eclectic and made from combinations of used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them with modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. I've tried to capture the details in photos so please, look very carefully before purchasing.
