Piney Woods Fragrance - pine needle, balsam fir, evergreen, green amber, silver spruce, orange, cypress, atlas cedar, fern, moss and bergamot.
Named for the Great Piney Woods of Mississippi.
The area where I grew up in Mississippi is known as the "Piney Woods". It got its name because of the many long-leafed pines in the area. If you've never seen a long-leafed pine then you don't know what you're missing. They are stunning with their huge needles that just grow up and then fall straight down like they are hanging. There are so many different types of coniferous trees and Mississippi is full of them and the fragrance that emanates from them is heavenly. A person can drive or walk for miles and miles and see nothing but pine trees.
I remember in the Autumn raking up all the pine straw in our yard and then we'd load it into the back of my Dad's truck. My brother and I would bury ourselves in the pine while my Dad drove. We'd actually make huge hills of raked pine straw and build tunnels through it. During the winters when it was very cold, ice would form on the pine needles of the trees and it was just a magnificent sight to see.
Even now, when I burn scents in my home, they usually are from the balsam, spruce, and pine families. These different species merge into the "evergreen" family because even though they are constantly losing leaves, the leaves are replaced by new ones therefore constantly remaining "green" throughout all seasons. Sometimes, I'll mix these scents with sage or orange. Most people would associate these evergreens with the holidays but, I like them year round. This fragrance is purely "green" and rounded out on a base of green amber with minor fruity notes of orange and apple. I purposely added Balsam Fir Needle, Silver Spruce, Atlas Cedar and Northern Pines to this blend to create an even 'greener' aromatic. These are not predominant in the southern states but, added with the pine needle and cypress, creates a more well-rounded fragrance. There is much pine in this one though. Think very, very green and balsam-like.
This is definitely a unisex scent. Both men and women can relate to the wonderful aroma of pines and woods. It contains many essential oils and is very strong. Apply sparingly and do a patch test if you feel some essential oils are too strong to wear.
