Speak No, See No, Hear No Evil Diorama-proverbial wisdom shadow box-pixies-mushrooms-owls-teacher gifts-elementary classroom decor.
 
The dimensions of this box are 10 x 6 x 2". The box was given a dark stain, then given a distressed finish, and painted a bright shade of yellow-green. The outer trim of the box is lined in orangish-red floral fabric. The inner trim is lined with buttons, miscellaneous ladybugs, and flowers. On top of the box is a mushroom.
 
This piece is reminiscent of the age-old proverb "see no", "hear no", "speak no" evil. Within are three pixie boys practicing each phrase. One is sitting on top of a mushroom and another is on top of a green shrub. They're surrounded by dogs, owls, ladybugs, a bird, and a squirrel. Some of these are sitting on a little bench made from twigs. Two hand-painted gothic cathedral windows, lined with floral paper, lie on both sides of a larger paper window. Two large burlap floral pieces are in both top corners, one of which contains a raspberry dessert in the middle. 
 
This is a magical piece for people of all ages. It's representative of a thematic centuries-old moral that all should practice. Not only should we see, hear, and speak no evil but, we also should not ignore it. It would make a great gift for teachers and would work well in an elementary classroom setting. 
 
This piece is handmade and one of a kind. There may be small imperfections, which is consistent with vintage and handmade items. Each box is made carefully with love and hopefully, will make you smile. Sometimes, I don't see strands of glue left behind right away but, if it's there, it's no big deal to tweeze it off. This box can hang with the sawtooth hanger on back or sit freestanding. 

My shadowbox pieces are eclectic and made from combinations of used and found objects, vintage items, and store purchased finds. I try to upcycle with various pieces when allowable and mix them with modern pieces for a diverse and unique assemblage. I've tried to capture the details in photos so please, look very carefully before purchasing.
